  • Airbus Group - Spacecraft Operations

    Blagnac 2016 - maintenant Launch, placement into orbit and routine operations of all Airbus satellites.
  • Galileo Control Centre (Astrium/DLR) - Galileo Hardware Manager and Systems Engineer

    2011 - 2016 On-site at the centre of operations for the Galileo satellite navigation mission to deploy, integrate and verify the control systems designed to operate the first Galileo satellites. Gained experience in ESA flight operations infrastructure, including the SCOS-2000 system. The role required liaison with, and travel to, space agencies and subcontractors across Europe. Managed the hardware deployment, maintenance and evolution of the global control system, including for satellite tracking stations worldwide.
  • EADS Astrium - Systems Engineer

    Blagnac 2010 - 2011 Continued the design and implementation of a resource management system for satellites and associated communication infrastructure, based on work achieved for the final placement of the completed Graduate Development Programme of EADS Astrium. Supported the development of a bespoke Java software application, in order to handle real-time operational satcom service orders.

    • contributed to regular work package, requirement and architectural reviews;
    • designed and implemented the client application with menus, toolbars, navigation and data entry, to allow the display of GUI panels with application logic;
    • supported efficient development, integration, testing and verification of the client and server to ensure achievement of the required business functionality;
    • authored the user documentation for the software application and liaised with other developers and teams to perform revisions upon updates to functionality.
  • Parliamentary Space Committee - Liaison and Web Administrator

    2009 - 2015 Involvement in administration of the PSC, its online media campaign and government initiatives supporting European space policy. Attendance at events in Westminster and across London.

    Developed a website for the PSC to raise online awareness of activities, events and parliamentary issues relating to space, along with a communications solution for administrators and parliamentary staff of the Committee. Compiled space constituency briefings and published 'Space for Europe', a handbook on European space policy for the European Interparliamentary Space Conference.
  • EADS Astrium - Graduate Engineer

    Blagnac 2008 - 2010 Passed selection and completed the two-year Graduate Development Programme, having experienced a range of technical and managerial placements in departments throughout the Astrium business in the UK, to understand and participate in the British space industry. Involved the frequent completion of general and on-placement training programmes in support of personal and professional development.

  • Microsoft - Student Partner

    Issy-les-Moulineaux. 2007 - 2008 Student liaison for Microsoft at the University of Manchester. Responsible for knowledge building and on–site training, technology transfer, increasing public awareness of Microsoft tools and technologies through public relations and event organisation, and writing regular technology articles for online publication. Presented and attended meetings at the central London office to learn Microsoft technologies including Windows Vista and the Office 2007 system. Received glass award upon completion of the Microsoft programme, ‘for sharing passion and enthusiasm for technology’.

    1999 - 1999 Duties at Daresbury Laboratory involved maintenance and testing of a cyclotron particle accelerator for synchrotron radiation research. Produced and maintained digital documentation and files relating to experimental data, and assisted scientists with research to understand their informatics requirements.
