Major Accountabilities 2007 :
1. Technical Publications effectiveness : Lead the creation, localization and translation of machine documentation to meet EU legal requirements. Improve link & synchronization with production & distribution of the above documentation (especially OM & OHB). Identify opportunities for cost reductions and challenge process optimization. Drive the integration of all EMEA technical publications into the NPD process. Improve Tech Pub project communication towards PLR (to Product Manager, Product Service Manager & Program Manager) and within project-specific conference calls addressing technical publication issues.
2. Work towards establishing EMEA vs. US Tech Pub standards for OM, OHB, PM & SM, including integration of Specs, Suggested Service Times, Attachment DoCs and other relevant components / data. Setup strategies towards expanding the pool of external vendors, mainly w.r.t. technical writing, in order to properly absorb the increasing amount of technical publications covering EMEA-built items. Use Tech Pub standards in order to teach, train, coach & benchmark external vendors.
3. Define, implement and improve process towards ensuring proper collection & processing of EMEA-relevant ECNs, and towards ensuring proper creation, translation and communication of Installation Instructions (existing commercial kits, new machines). Improve format of Inspection Check Books towards increased update flexibility.
4. Support the aftermarket communication, via Service e-news and BOP (addressing Installation Instructions, Service Letters, BTIs, SNTs, STMs, PSIs), as well as through specific projects such as Electronic Service Dealer Library, Service Tools, Service Software Failure Codes, etc.
5. Organization effectiveness: Monitor and clearly identify, document & quantify EMEA Tech Pub workload & processes, towards justifying the expansion of the EMEA Tech Pub team from 1 Manager + 1 Employee towards 1 Manager + 3 Employees. Subsequently lead, coach and develop talent. Build team effectiveness and optimize alignment towards clear goals and deliverables.

4. Responsible for managing service level agreements with vendors (including vendor selection, ongoing relations, price negociations and sign off of invoices within agreed budget).

Major Accountabilities 2005 :
1. Coordination of Leaflet & OM Production : coordinate the efforts w.r.t. localising & delivering leaflets (marketing) and OMs (technical) in due time and with constant / increasing quality.
2. Improvement of the Translation Quality & Process into Dutch : spot-checking the outsourced translation quality, performing short non-technical translations internally and setting up / systematizing / enlarging the EN-NL terminology repository.
3. Promotion of Translation Technology : (re-?) motivate the members of the Department in using translation technology (Translation Memory, Text Alignment, Terminology Tools), again towards translation quality increase (a.o. consistency) and cost reduction (mid & long term goal = reducing the volume of outsourced non-technical translations).
4. Setup & Coaching of a Global Reviewer Network : select, contact, educate and further coach external reviewers, incl. pricing aspects (both within & outside of the Bobcat network) towards quality increase in more exotic languages, both for marketing and technical documentation.
5. Maintenance of the XML Specs Files Repository, w.r.t. Target Languages : maintain & preserve the integrity of the technical specifications for the different machine ranges in up to 22 languages, stored in XML files and accessible through the BobcatNet, both to the internal Project Managers and the network of Bobcat Dealers.
6. Process Modeling : set up and refine several models for the processes underlying the different document production requests assigned to our Department.
