    Laurent has more than 20 years high level experience in direct tax (corporate, remuneration and benefits, private clients). Last year he got the annulment of the tax on securities accounts by the Constitutional Court of Belgium. His practice focuses on corporate structuring/restructuring, the tax aspects of M&A, private equity, investment funds, high net worth individuals and expats issues. He serves both publicly-traded and closely held businesses, both at the level of the companies and the ultimate shareholders. He is a member of the International Fiscal Association, has been a member of the Brussels Bar since 2000. Laurent is adjunct professor at the prestigious business school ESCP-Europe (Paris and Luxembourg) in international tax (International mobility, remuneration and stock options). He is ranked as a tax expert in Chambers & Partners (Global, 2014, 2015, Europe 2018, 2019) and is recommended by Legal500 (EMEA, 2018, 2019). Clients appreciate that he "is able to be innovative and can think outside the box to find answers" (Chambers, Europe, 2018). He is also described by clients as being "straight to the point, very smart and highly effective" (Chambers, Europe, 2019). He studied law, economics and taxation, in Belgium (Louvain-la-Neuve, Leuven), in France (Paris II-Assas) and in the USA (Harvard University).

    2015 - 2020 Laurent is focused since 1999 in all aspects of corporate and individual tax matters. Based on a strong practice within the Benelux countries, he advises Belgian and international clients on their operations including corporate structuring/restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, private equity, investment funds and treasury centers, high net worth individuals and expats issues. He is particularly active in cross-border transactions involving France, Italy, Luxembourg and the Netherlands.
    He is a member of the International Fiscal Association and has been a member of the Brussels Bar since 2000.

    He is also lecturer at the Ecole Supérieure de Commerce de Paris (ESCP-Europe).

    1999 - 2015 De formation pluridisciplinaire belge (Droit à Louvain-la-Neuve, Economie à Leuven, master et DESS en fiscalité à Bruxelles), Laurent a rejoint en 1999 à Bruxelles le cabinet Loyens & Loeff, reconnu pour sa haute spécialisation en fiscalité au Bénélux. Détaché au bureau parisien du cabinet de 2002 à 2004, il a multiplié ses domaines d’activités dans des dossiers internationaux, avec une dominance dans des dossiers transnationaux France-Belgique. Il est de retour au bureau bruxellois depuis 2004 où il poursuit son activité. Il est également membre de l'Italian Desk de Loyens&Loeff. Il intervient comme orateur dans divers séminaires et publie fréquemment des articles. Il est notamment co-auteur de la partie fiscale du livre 'Belgique', Dossiers Internationaux Francis Lefebvre, Paris, 2006 et 2010.
