In charge of a team of sorters, I had to value and prepare for marketing several mines allocations and sights (BHP, Rio Tinto...) and also from mines productions (Ellendale, Konoma ...).
My duties at Overseas Diamonds included also the design and evolution of IT systems for evaluation, marketing and after sales pricing monitoring. Adjusting price lists for rough diamonds. Editing sales lists and fixing sale target, several ad-hoc valuations and purchasing of mining productions. Teaching sorting skills and stock control etc.

With IDV (Independent Diamonds Valuators), I organized several visits of HRD delegations to Sierra Leone as well as the visits of the Minister of Mines of Sierra Leone and his delegations to Belgium. The purpose of the bilateral visits was the negotiation of new policies of diamond exportation from Sierra Leone in full accordance with the Kimberly Process requirements and the introduction of the Certificate of Origin for rough diamonds.
I also monitored for IDV the evolution of the Small Mining diamonds industry in post war Sierra Leone.

From Abidjan (Ivory Coast) I was buying and ensuring safe exportations of diamonds and gold. In Monrovia (Liberia), after the civil war, we created a diamond dealership. The dealership was extended to gold to supply the Orfund refinery in Andorra.

Detached to Lakeview, a holding Company in Ivory Coast, the mission was to study the possibilities of co-operation with SODEMI, a state owned Company created to assist in the development of Ivory Coast mining resources. My work involved a complete study of cooperation possibilities between Cindam and the GVC (Vocation Professional Teams) in artisanal diamond mining. I conducted a basic training in sorting of rough diamonds for eight Lakeview / SODEMI trainees. During this time in Ivory Coast I bought and exported several parcels of rough diamonds.

For Diamant S. Langer N.V. I established a company called Langer (S.L) Ltd., a diamond exporting company based in Freetown, Sierra Leone. As Managing Director of Langer (S.L.) Ltd. at first, I organized the purchasing of rough diamonds between Freetown and Kenema. Within one year the company had created and organized four buying points in the country. Besides buying in Freetown, I was in charge of all funds repatriation, accounting and diamond exports.

During this eight months consultancy contract, I was sent to Afro Continental (S.L.) Ltd, a Sierra Leone subsidiary company of the group Afro Continental in Geneva, Switzerland. Work consisted in buying rough diamonds in Freetown and Kenema and in assisting a team of geologists in alluvial research for future mining.

As first assignment in Africa in the ex-Republic of Zaïre, I was sent by Georges Evans to organize various buying contacts into a company. We created DIAMCO Zaïre, a ``Comptoir d'Achat de Diamant'' (diamond buying and exporting office). My official rank in the company was ``Director of Administration''. During the first five months, I planned six buying points in the provinces of Bandundu and in both Kasaï. My duties also included all diamonds purchasing in Kinshasa, Leading exporter in 1995. I had also to ensure safe exportations to our Antwerp office.
