BRUSSELS

En résumé

Greg's educational and professional career paths were strongly influenced by his childhood passion for technology and people. He is perfectly bi-lingual French/English and expresses a strong desire to learn and develop the broadest skill-set possible - interpersonal, creative as well as technical.

A strong academic background in both general engineering and computer sciences was complemented by startup initiatives, sporting and music achievements.

His first full-time professional experience was as an ICT consultant, both as an analyst and project manager. This proved an excellent opportunity to develop his soft skills and discover a new sensitivity to people management issues.

He subsequently joined a start-up venture Knowledge Plaza porting "Web 2.0" technologies to answer enterprise knowledge management and market intelligence needs. This opportunity developed his broader understanding of innovation and market challenges, while developing his evangelization and business development skills through the successful acquisition of major clients.

He is currently also in the process of finishing a 2-year executive management in business administration course at the Solvay Business School.

  • Elium - Head of Business Development

2009 - maintenant Subsequent to my positive contributions to Elium (Knowledge Plaza)'s pre-sales process, I took over over the team's prospect/partner generation as well as offer submissions, contract negotiation and client account management. Resulting client acquisitions range from SMEs to multinational organizations such as Orange, Pfizer, Lafarge, EDF, GDF, Elia, PMU, Federal Police, etc.

Knowledge Plaza's innovative solution and company's growth received the "Belgian Startup of the Year 2011" award from Belgium's leading ICT magazine Datanews, amongst several domain-specific recognitions (I-Expo 2010, KMWorld 2010, Devcom 2011, etc.).
  • Knowledge Plaza - Knowledge Officer

2008 - 2009 Whatever S.A. is a Belgium-based company founded in 2008 which provides a full range of tightly integrated services to information-hungry clients: workshops on searching the Web and building collective knowledge, consultancy on the safe and effective use of IT in the information era, and tools such as Knowledge Plaza, a Web-based platform that assists knowledge professionals in searching, managing, and sharing information.

I first joined this young team to provide consultancy services to their clients in the areas of information management and Enterprise 2.0.
I then got progressively involved in Knowledge Plaza's pre-sales process by providing both creative input as well as knowledge management expertise to the business development team.
  • AXEN - Graduate Consultant

2006 - 2008 AXEN is a company member of the ALTEN international group which provides consultancy and engineering services in the domains of Telecoms and Information Technologies.

My following consultancy missions were mainly carried out at The Brussels Regional Informatics Centre (CIRB/BRIC) which is the public body responsible for the computerization of the public authorities of the Brussels Region, incl. ministeries, hospitals, communes:

    - The implementation of a project management office (PMO)
    - The analysis/selection of a redundant and virtualized IBM SAN solution
    - The coordination, planning and follow-up of their 250+ server fleet move incl. their VMware infrastructure (preceded by a VMware Professional certification course)
    - The preparation of the server fleet virtualization project of Brussels' administrations (needs analysis, specs definition and planned PM for Q3/2008)
    - The implementation of a SharePoint-based information management platform

AXEN promoted a strong adhocratic culture and internal activity involvement. I took part in the university recruitment process as a campus manager, various marketing/communication projects, Axen Maps project (internal collaborator localisation), AMS Intranet v2 (internal SharePoint collaboration portal) and VMware projects.
  • Bluenox - Founding partner

2000 - 2002 As a cofounding member of Bluenox, a startup division of WISA S.A., I was implicated in various IT projects including website development, software/hardware sales and services.
  • Martech International - Director

1999 - maintenant Martech acts as an advisor to SMEs, companies and administrations on issues relating to the Information Society.

It assists organizations to develop strategies and to deal with rapidly changing environments, especially within the domains of telework and electronic commerce. It also supplies strategic and tactical marketing consultancy to SMEs in the high tech sector, as well as hardware, software and web services.
