My expertise relates to the standardization and the optimization of financial processes at international level in parallel with several SAP implementations, the set up and the functional operation of a financial Shared Service Center in Europe, and in a second phase the outsourcing of these processes. I have 9 years plus experience as project manager in this area with a couple of successful migrations, the last one dated July 2009.
I moved from European to Global/international responsibilities mid 2005 within the Agfa-Gevaert group. I am fluent in French, Dutch and English and I have no traveling restrictions.
I have more than 20 years experience in operations and project management in Finance and Logistics. I am recognized in my professional environment for my ability to translate business needs and user expectations into functional specifications and to document them accurately. I see myself as a generalist rather then a specialist although I have a deep knowledge in some areas. I am regularly contacted to speak at international conferences in Europe about Finance and P2P best in class solutions relating to efficiency improvement of transactional processes.
2006 - 2009•Developing a set of financial processes based on best practices as a guide for all Agfa subsidiaries and the subsequent documentation.
•Participating actively to the several migrations to SAP platforms. More recently to the new SAP/ECC platform combined with the standardization of financial processes and the integration with other SAP modules of which Project Systems, CRM and new workflows.
•Outsourcing experience of financial transactional processes for Asia/Oceania with set up on SAP/ECC with focus on the documentation and training for the BPO service provider.
2001 - 2004•Coordinating the set-up of a Financial Shared Service Center for Europe (19 countries) from the business case (to get approval from the board of directors) to the final integration of all countries and managing concurrently the roll out of SAP FI/CO in Europe for several countries on one common platform.
•Developing and implementing various re-engineering projects to optimize the Accounts Payable (third party and inter-company transactions), the Accounts Receivable and the General Ledger processes. Set up Key Performance Indicators and related monthly reporting.
•Taking organizational responsibility in General Ledger and Reporting by managing a team of 17 people that prepares the Balance Sheet, the P&L statements and internal reporting to the worldwide headquarters for 22 legal entities, during three years.
1999 - 2000Developing FI/CO business model for the SAP platform, input to configuration team
Leading roll out of 4 Nordics countries and France on SAP as well as the integration in a shared service center.
2005 - 2006Developing reliability improvements of financial data on a global scale and subsequently implementing sub-projects to support this goal (new collecting platform, inter-company transactions and reconciliation, structured debriefing process after financial closing)
1998 - 1999Various activities in an ERP consulting company as Project Manager (SAP)
•Leading of a team accountable for the test, the preparation of the training for end users and its execution in a SAP/E-Commerce project for an IBM customer in Sweden
•Pre-sales SAP to national Post (France, Luxembourg, Belgium)
1996 - 1998•Supervising 13 people including Customer Services Representatives for the Benelux and Germany, the Expedition clerks, the SAP European Master Data Coordinator, the Customs clerk, the Accounts Payable for Belgium and Switzerland and Taxes (fiscal representation of the Swiss company in Belgium) during three years.
•Participating to the development, configuration, test , training of end users, and successful Global implementation of SAP R/3 (SD/MM modules). Set up of Business Process procedures and recommendations for change whenever needed
•Transfer from Du Pont de Nemours to Sterling Diagnostic Imaging with the sale of the business unit in April 1996
•SAP Project Team member from January 1997, spending 7 months mostly in the U.S., training tests and implementation of SAP
•Global SAP Support Team member (SAP Analyst) from November 1997 shared with operational responsibilities in Customer Services and Distribution
1992 - 1996•Move to Germany for the Medical and Printing & Publishing department in Europe.
•Various assignments :
a) improvement of European inventory ledgers management
b) managing service level agreements between support departements and businesses
c) Finance team leader in a After Sales worlwide project which objective was to improve the management of service contrats, the management of spare parts and the financial reporting.
1989 - 1992•Developing and installing sucessfully a Quality System ISO 9002 with certification of the Medical distribution centers and Customer Services organizations in Europe (certification body = Bureau Veritas)
1977 - 1989•Senior Business analysis for European divisions of the Medical Department,coordinating financial integration of acquisitions in the HealthCare sector in France (Pau) and Italy (Sienna)
•User representative for the Medical department in international system applications projects
•Providing Office Automation support and assistance for this department in Europe (200 users).
•Business analysis for the 5 local divisions from the department Industrial Products and the European distribution center in Brussels
