Laurent Nopere
Inventory & Write-off Manager, GSK Biologicals
Oriflame has transferred its headquarters to Stockholm end 2007. I decided to set up my own company, offering consultancy services in the supply chain area. Oriflame was very keen to offer me my first contract. My main projects are:
1) Knowledge transfer project: I have been training 15 new team members from two different departments to make sure the knowledge is transferred to them,
2) Forecast confirmation process,
3) Customization of a new ERP system,
4) Creation of a new inventory control report,
5) Other projects linked to the demand and supply planning areas.
2006 - 2007(Cosmetics industry)
Beginning of 2006 I was asked to move to the Supply Planning department to be responsible for the production planning of the company’s biggest factory, with more than 140 million units produced yearly across more than 1000 items, my main task being to bring stock from the factory into one of our hubs while keeping our inventory level under control. A global forecast accuracy of 30% makes the job quite challenging. I was also appointed as a member of a cross-functional team managing the development phase of products to be launched in the skin care category.
As an Oriflame Demand/Supply Planner I have had the possibility to understand the way information flows between all our systems. I have become pretty skilled at Excel and Access as well as good at managing different things at the same time.
2003 - 2006(Cosmetics industry)
I was responsible for managing the central forecasting process, ensuring data accuracy for MRP and DRP and I was the main speaking partner for forecasters around the world.
2001 - 2003(Automotive industry)
I had a coordinating role between the factories, the marketing and the mother company in Japan in terms of production planning. Even after leaving Toyota I still apply some of their principles in my day-to-day job such as "Plan-Do-Check-Action", Kaizen (continuous improvement) and Heijunka (production levelling)
1999 - 2001(Chemicals industry)
I started my professional life at Dow Corning where I learned the basics of planning and had a first chance to get contacts with raw material and component suppliers as well as building a trustworthy relation with workers on the production line.
