2009 - 2011Advanced Manufacturing is an integral approach to make DSM’s Manufacturing processes more consistent and optimize plant operations. It is a process that focuses on results – not tasks - and is applicable in the manufacturing of all businesses. It is directed towards continuous, sustained improvement and exploring tangible value, aligning all stakeholders.
Project results examples:
- Overall: behavior change towards a continuous improvement culture
- Production: capacity and organization effectiveness increase by implementation of Overall Equipment Effectiveness, Lean and 6 Sigma concepts
- Maintenance: plant availability increase and costs reduction by efficiency increase and contractor management optimization
- Supply chain: OWC optimization by implementation of S&OP and Inventory Management process, lead time reduction
- Project savings: 1-15M€/year & Project costs: 0,5-1 M€ (depending on projects).

- finding solutions to short- and middle-term plant issues (troubleshooting)
- optimizing the plant via data analysis, asset utilization study, plant performance follow-up and via the realization of feasibility study and of different projects
